Tasting Notes
Nose:
Elegant and aromatic with layers of honeysuckle, rose petals, and orchard fruits. Hints of crème caramel, orange marmalade, and gentle spice emerge, grounded by subtle oak and honeyed malt.
Palate:
Silky and full-bodied. Luscious notes of green apple, ripe pear, and kiwi are elevated by creamy vanilla, caramelised sugar, and toasted almonds. The oak influence is refined, adding complexity without overpowering the spirit’s floral core.
Finish:
Long and graceful. A lingering warmth of spiced oak, citrus peel, and dry fruits fades into delicate whispers of vanilla and soft wood smoke.
Craftsmanship & Heritage
Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2019, this 29-year-old expression was released as part of the prestigious Private Cellar Edition — an homage to Littlemill’s historical excellence. Matured in refill bourbon casks and finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry and Limousin oak, this whisky encapsulates the distillery’s lowland style: light, floral, and complex. With Littlemill’s closure in 1994, this release offers a rare glimpse into the spirit of a bygone era.
Each bottle is presented in a bespoke Glencairn crystal decanter etched with the River Clyde and comes with a matching miniature and a piece of the original cask, preserving a tangible piece of history.
