Glen Scotia 48 Year Old

SGD 18,700.00

Laid down in December 1974, this exceptional liquid has been cared for by multiple generations of distillery teams. Selected repeatedly for its quality, it offers a glimpse into Glen Scotia's past. Distilled on 28/12/1974, the 48-year-old single malt matured in refill and first-fill bourbon barrels for 43 years before recasking into a first-fill oloroso hogshead for five years, enhancing its floral and citrus notes. It received a final six-month finish in a second-fill ex-Pedro Ximénez hogshead, adding sweetness and spice while maintaining the distillery's coastal character. The result is a uniquely complex single malt, blending Spanish flavors with Campbeltown’s signature style.

The Glen Scotia 48-year-old is presented in a handmade oak display case, inspired by the artistic Spanish ‘Azulejo’ tile designs that were once found in the bodegas and bars of Seville, then wider Spain and Portugal over the 18th and 19th century. A further oak tile resting beneath the bottle holds a plaque with the individual bottle number, tasting notes, and story of this incredible single malt whisky. In partnership with Glencairn, each individually numbered bottle has been tastefully etched and infilled, with gold metal decoration to the body and shoulder. A heavy metal stopper completes its exceptional presentation.
